Privacy Policy

Effective: June 15, 2026

This privacy policy explains how Camino Mio handles personal data when you use the Camino Mio website at camino-mio.com or the Camino Mio mobile app. We aim to collect as little as possible and to be clear about what we do collect, why and who we share it with.

Data controller

The data controller responsible for processing your personal data is Viktor Braun. For any privacy-related questions or requests, write to hey@camino-mio.com.

The mobile app

Most of what you create in the Camino Mio mobile app stays on your device. Your start date, packing list, prep tasks, bed bookings, settings and notes are stored locally and are never sent to a server.

To understand how the app is used and improve it, we send anonymous product analytics events to PostHog. This includes which mode you are in (Explore, Plan or Walk) and your chosen start date, attached to an anonymous profile identified by a randomly generated device identifier. We do not send your name, email, packing list contents or notes.

If the app crashes or hits an unexpected error, we send a crash report to Sentry so we can fix the problem. Crash reports include the device model, operating system version, app version and the technical details of the error. They do not include the data you create in the app.

The website

On camino-mio.com we use a self-hosted Umami instance to count page views and understand which content is popular. Umami does not use cookies, does not track you across sites and does not collect personal data.

Third-party processors

  • PostHog Inc. (EU region, eu.posthog.com) — anonymous product analytics for the mobile app. Data is processed in the European Union.
  • Sentry (EU region, de.sentry.io) — crash reporting for the mobile app. Data is processed in the European Union.
  • Umami (self-hosted by Viktor Braun on infrastructure in the European Union) — privacy-friendly analytics for the website.

Children

Camino Mio is not directed at children under the age of 16 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Your rights

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to ask us to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to certain processing, to receive your data in a portable format and to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, write to hey@camino-mio.com.

Retention

Data stored locally in the app stays on your device until you delete the app or clear it from inside the app. Anonymous analytics in PostHog and Umami are retained for up to 90 days. Crash reports in Sentry are retained for up to 90 days.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the effective date above. The mobile app version that ships after a change references the updated policy.
